§ 66-81. Usage.

  • (a)

    For the purpose of this chapter, certain abbreviations, terms, and words used in this chapter shall be used, interpreted, and defined as set forth in this section. The words to be defined are shown in italics followed by the definition.

    (b)

    Unless the context clearly indicates to the contrary, words used in the present tense include the future tense; words used in the plural number include the singular; the word "herein" means "in this chapter"; and the word "regulations" means "this chapter."

    (c)

    The term "person" includes a corporation, a partnership, and an incorporated association of persons such as a club; the term "shall" is always mandatory; the term "building" includes a structure; the term "building" or "structure" includes part thereof. The term "used" or "occupied," as applied to any land or building, shall be construed to include the words "intended, arranged, or designed to be used or occupied."
