§ 58-60. Declaration of policy and purpose.

The board of commissioners does hereby declare that it shall promote the health, safety and general public welfare of the citizens of Screven County by providing for regulations of the use of roads contained in the Screven County road system pursuant to the authority granted in the Georgia Constitution, Article IX, Section II Paragraphs I and III and the Official Code of Georgia §§ 40-6-371 and 32-4-42, which provide that, in addition to the power specifically delegated to it in that title, a county shall have the authority to adopt and enforce rules and regulations or ordinances to require permits and to perform all other acts which are necessary, proper or incidental to the efficient operation and development of the county road system.
